What's going to be the total time investment for this project, discounting the fuckups failed prints?

      No clue. lol

It's many hours and then many more.

Printing is only part of the battle here. Gluing everything together and making sure it stays square and hoping the adhesion works well enough for airworthiness is going to take a long time. Then it's electronics and control installation time.

            Holy cow that's huge! 😃

This is such a great project, Mark. I can't wait to see it fly.

@mark I'll be interested to see how much work is involved in getting it ready to fly - electronics, assembly, control-surfaces, etc.

Post pics when you get to that part.

@George-K if you look at the stream right now you will see a failed print sitting there. I am waiting for the bed to cool before I remove it.

Something went wrong with the G-Code generation.

There is an application call a Slicer. It takes the 3d model and slices it into layers. Then it tells the printer the speed, and 3D coordinates to move the print head and bed, the extrusion rate of the material, the temperature of the print head (hot end) the temperature of the bed, and a lot more parameters like fan speed for cooling the extrusion as it is deposited, etc.

G-Code. It's basically been around since the invention of the Jacquard Loom.

Motor Mount re-print after a mis-step on the printer that lead to a blob of plastic causing a crash of the print head.

Decided to have the top half in blue and the bottom half in white. Just another visual clue to help see when the airplane is inverted.
