So 8 years ago a 17 going on 18 year old boy molests a 10 year old girl. Flash forward 7 years and the guy is arrested for it. While in custody he decided he is a girl. Due to the outrage nature of the world, the DA decides not to file adult charges. So the end result is the 26 year old child molester is being sentenced to two years in JUVENILE DETENTION with young girls.

It reads the like prosecutor screwed up, big time.

Still, the article says "Tubbs would be housed alone" at the juvenile facility. Still bad, just the badness is somewhat mitigated by the solitary housing.

Now, I'm not being cynical here, but is it just remotely possible that the offender saw this as a possible way of avoiding a worse sentence?

Years ago, we had a local rape/murder of a teen-age girl, where the guy left her gutted and hanging in a tree. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Administrative screw-ups being what they are, he got assigned to a dormitory camp at Angola. His balls got cut off the first week and he became the camp bitch. I don't gave a clue if he's still alive, but I doubt it.
