Between 2008 and 2019, the retired population ages 55 and older grew by about 1 million retirees per year. In the past two years, the ranks of retirees 55 and older have grown by 3.5 million.

I think it's partially right. But it's a very complicated situation and there are many, many factors at play.

School lock-downs, back to virtual learning, isn't helping the situation either.
What are you, as a parent, going to do with school age children who are not in the classroom.
One parent is going to have to stay home with them.
We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there's still time to change the road you're on. -

In all seriousness? The inflation of the 70’s was in a large way responsible for the explosion of women in the workplace as single income families couldn’t get by. What happens now that we are seeing 70’s type inflation again and there’s nobody left to send into the workplace?

Our rising expectations had a whole lot to do with that, not just inflation. McMansions, shows like Dynasty and Dallas, subscription services like cable, etc.

They did, but Millennials are completely bucking that trend. Unlike boomers, they're much more into sustainable shit, "minimalism" (which leads to living economically), working to live instead of vice versa, smaller homes, fewer cars, etc., etc.
