1. Did the dog have tags? I assume that Chicago requires dogs to have their shots and have id tags?

2. The number on the collar comes down to her word vs. theirs, unfortunately.

3. What's the timing here? The dog went missing in January. When was it picked up by the city? When did it go to the rescue group? When was it adopted? When did she track down where the dog was? When did she ask for the dog's return?

4. I'd hate to be the other family, especially if Zeus has been with them for many months and integrated as a part of the family, but if I had a dog for a month or two and then it turns out the original owner had been looking and finally found him, I think I would have to give the of back, unless there were clear signs of neglect and abuse. To not do so is kinda dickish.

@lufins-dad Agree. Some unanswered questions, but if the story the lady told is correct, the other family should return her dog.
