A Separate Space

Surreal.
Integration is no longer a goal. Advantage is.
Been that way a long time. Some of the most racist people I've ever known are black. I was discussing a situation at a small hospital the other day with the administrator...He hired a black female manager for the business department, which also oversees the admit clerks. The woman is good at what she does, but she has fired or ran off every white person that initially worked for her and hired black people to replace them. And what's even worse, she's starting to let that racial attitude leak over into working with the other department heads and the nursing staff.
He hates to fire her, because she has found a lot of money the hospital was billing improperly and she has tightened up some purchasing practices that needed it. Plus, she's black and the EEOC and God knows what else will be immediate upon termination.
It's a mess.

Yup, people will use their race when it is to their advantage.
People say:
"We want to be treated equal and everyone should be colorblind"But also say:
"Wait, when making the new election districts, this one does not have enough (whites/blacks/spanish/asians, etc). You must remake it to get more/less of that color into the district!!!!"
