Theft by Facial Recognition

“A Chinese man has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison for pulling up his ex-girlfriend’s eyelids while she slept and transferring nearly £18,000 out of her bank accounts using facial recognition software on her mobile phone, according to state media and court documents.”

Sounds like one of those thriller movies where either they cut off a guys fingers to use his fingerprints to open doors or use his eye to do the same.

I remember watching some movie (I can't remember which) in which a door was locked using a retinal scan.
Well one of the characters enucleated a guard and used his eyeball to gain access. At the time, I thought, "Gee, I hope the scanner is programmed to do EITHER eye, otherwise the murderer would have to go and retrieve the other eye.
