Yeah. That'll keep them out of Taiwan.

Just curious - what do you guys think of President Biden's approach and handling of the relationship with China?

I don't think he's done anything particularly wrong. TBH, I'm not really sure that the US can do a whole lot at this point. They've got some phoney economic and diplomatic posturing they can try to try and curb China's excesses, but there's nothing realistic that can be done militarily, so what's the solution if China starts stretching its legs?

          I was only joking

Yup, people in Taiwan were quite happy with President Trump and his policies to mainland China. And they are actually as happy (or more so) with President Biden's attitude towards mainland China and support of Taiwan.

              It's better than nothing.

And if many nations join, the effect would be larger.

I for one would be in favor of a complete boycott of the games.

It is time to treat China for what it is. I for one am ready for a full-scale economic war. Let's bring the factories and stuff back to the West. Let's bleed those suckers dry. It will be painful for us, too, but I'm ready.

Trying to bring them into the fold hasn't yielded anything but grief, so I'm with you, Klaus.

I agree however I am not sure if a lot of folks would be willing to accept or cope with the resulting price inflation on consumer durables it would bring.

Just read some of threads and posts here on the subject of inflation.

                  Elbows up!

In general, nobody is willing to make personal sacrifices if those sacrifices can be framed as or are seen as accruing to one political side more than the other.

                    Education is extremely important.

Yeah, now you've got your fancy piano, you're up for anything!

Some of us need freaking expensive electronics to keep us occupied, buster. I barely survived the great video card shortage of 2020/2021. I'm not ready for all out war - particularly if you start playing bloody Lili Marlene at high volume.
