Some were cases of bad luck, but very few were. Mostly, it was stupidity. That did not make it any less humorous for me. It makes me wonder how they survived that far in life. Darwin is evidently very patient.

Agreed. Some were not the cyclists' fault, though many were, or at least were bad luck.

I'm happy you survived that one....

Not on a bike, but that very thing happened to me on 68, heading into DC. Stopped traffic to my right, my lane was going about 70. Some fucker decides to cut right in front of me. I cut into the lane to my left and I was very close to wiping out; car rocking back and forth on left and right wheels a couple times. It just so happened I looked over into that left lane a few seconds prior and knew no cars were beside me; if there were, well, someone probably would've died.

I hate situations like that now.

Indeed, the truck driver should be cited for reckless driving.

This is just my opinion, but it seems like most bicycle riders feel that they do not have to obey the traffic laws. :grimace
