By the way, it looks like she's cutting dados on the saw using the rip fence as a guide. Freehand.
Big no-no. It will take nothing for that piece to bind, just a bit, and the blade will hurl it across the shop at more than 100 mph.
Safest way is to clamp a piece of scrap against the fence, but make it so it's shorter than the fence. THEN use a miter gauge with a hold-down.
