Speaking of dates in the past

I posted this a few months back.

That brings up something we haven't spoken of for a while - incels.
Do they lack that hallmark of species' success, the ability to adapt? I mean, c'mon - it's just not that hard to find a willing woman. I don't care what you look like or your financial situation, there are women out there for you.
Seriously, put a little effort into it.

It's an empirical fact that a minority of men fathered a majority of humans. The genetic evidence is clear, IIRC we all have about twice as many female ancestors as male.
Of course this was before the men with low mating market value could trade green cards for brides.

My wife had everything and I don’t even know why she married me.

@jon-nyc I thought you were joking….

@bachophile I guess the idea is that if you have good DNA, best to
sprayspread it around as much as you canI’ve told Mrs Bach this several times but she wasn’t amused. Man, it’s just biology.

Yeah, here’s another way to think about it. Imagine constructing an ancestor tree going back 40 generations, which is roughly 1000 years. The top line (listing all your great^38 grandparents) would literally have over a trillion entires (2^40). Obviously a trillion people weren’t alive then or ever, so what you’d see in practice is the same men and women appearing over and over in that tree. But the same men reappear in that tree at a much higher frequency than the women do.
