RIP Stephen Sondheim

MFR texted that to The Princess who loves Sondheim (who doesn’t?). She had to stop crying at work.

I run hot and cold with Sondheim. His genius as a lyricist is, IMO, undisputed.
"A Little Night Music" ("Send In The Clowns") is one of my favorite musicals. Every song is a waltz, you know...
Other stuff is not as engaging, at least to me. I really should spend more time getting acquainted with his work.
Where should I begin?

Hal David also died at age 91.
Makes you think…
Coincidence?

Into The Woods
I watched a couple of trailers for the movie of "Into the Woods."
Looks like something I'd enjoy. The style of music reminds me, a lot, of "A Little Night Music," which is one of my favorite musicals.
And, "Send in the Clowns" is not the best song in that show.

Best piece I have read from him. My daughter found it.
