This is the conversation that I just had with one of our piano technicians -
"I can't believe they let that (bleeeeeeep) get away with it! Come on! WTF was he even doing there? He had no reason to be in Kenosha except to cause trouble! He didn't live there, he has no connection, he carried an illegal gun across state lines, and he"
Me - "No he didn't."
Him - "What?!"
Me - "He have every reason to be there. His dad lives there, he spends half of his time in the city, he had a job in Kenosha which is why he was there those particular days. He never transported the gun as it was from a friend and stayed at his friend's house and it was a legal gun"
Him - "Where did you hear all of that bullshit?"
Me - "I read the nightly transcripts. Not the news, the actual trial."
Him - "That's bullshit" and he storms off.
Perfect. Just perfect.
This is why I don't do politics on facebook.

Did any of these concerned assholes stop to think if there wasn't a riot, none of this would have happened...
Of course not.
But that argument is similar to Mrs. George's statement, "He shouldn't have been there."
She's right, he shouldn't have.
But, that's not a crime.
Rioting is.
GrossKreutz traveled about 80 miles to be there.
Do I think that there was a little part of Rittenhouse that was hoping somebody would try something? Yeah, I can see that. But that's not illegal, and it's certainly nigh on impossible to prove. At the same time I am sick of this "He shouldn't have been there" crap. Why not? Why shouldn't people be allowed and able to stand up to these protestors and say "No!"? We are actually denigrating, insulting, and convicting a kid that was handing out medical supplies, cleaning graffiti, and trying to protect a few buildings and businesses and at the same time we are glorifying a child molestor, an antifa jackass, a career violent criminal, and whatever was going on with the "paramedic".

There are decent people on the other side of the argument. People that honestly believe what they are saying. Unfortunately, the culture has led the various "media" (I don't necessarily mean journalists, just sources of information) to so badly misinform everybody on both sides that there is no reconciliation on these issues that are even possible.
We're done. I am firmly convinced that we have passed a line that we can't go back to.

There are some news stories, on which we can all agree
Most of us here remember this

Most of the people preparing to riot don’t have any idea what that is referencing.

He was there for the same reason the protesters were - to try on and act out an heroic self-image, and to participate in historic events.

"Wisconsin - we're whiter than white!"
See? There's your problem, right there.
If you were really, really, from Wisconsin, you'd call yourself "Sconnies."
It's like where D2 used to live. You don't say "West Allis." You say, "Stallis."
But, it's Friday night, and there are no fish-frys here in the Chicago 'burbs, so...whatever.

Another president incites insurrection
Biden calls for calm but says Rittenhouse 'not guilty' verdict leaves him 'angry and concerned'
The president says Americans should protest 'peacefully'
President Biden called on Americans to protest "peacefully" and follow the law following the jury's verdict in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, which he said left him "angry and concerned."
"I urge everyone to express their views peacefully, consistent with the rule of law," Biden said in a statement ahead of expected protests. "Violence and destruction of property have no place in our democracy."

Yeah the left hates American institutions that don't toe the leftist line. Such as an objectively just verdict that is at odds with leftist outrage. Our tribal leftist president is angry and concerned that an objectively just verdict didn't toe leftist outrage lines. Yeah, congratulations, welcome to America. It's the one the idiots wanted. At least the court made the right decision.

They should make their voice be heard!

Could he face civil penalties? I'm not sure how you establish that he was 51% at fault here when other guys were coming after him with guns.
