The Kyle Rittenhouse trial in Kenosha

Want to teach something "critical" in public school? Teach critical thinking. Teach how to spot bias or loaded reporting. Teach students to look for what isn't said or written, as much as what is.
The Founders knew it took an educated populace to successfully make a republic. Educate the young minds of mush with what they need to know, instead of the flavor of the moment.
Indeed. if your side is right, they will see that. If you have to indoctrinate them you aren't right.

I just listened to Andy McCarthy's podcast on this.
There's one interesting comment: The guy who survived, Grosskreutz, pointed a handgun at Rittenhouse (which he denies on TV but admits under oath). His permit for such weapon was expired and therefore it was illegal.
McCarthy asks (rhetorically, I assume): Why isn't the state prosecuting him for a gun crime?

This was expunged. But at the time of the shooting, I think he was still a felon, which definitely makes the gun illegal.

@George-K I think I’ve only seen that guy’s name here and it was a discussion about him making shit up out of whole cloth.
I apologize in advance if I have the name wrong.

Yeah

Not to worry whether this entirely plausible thing might be true. not to worry that a little reflection would lead any reasonable person to conclude that retribution is on the mind of every one of those jurors, regardless of how much weight they try to give it. You are a centrist, and do not have to own anything having to do with either political side.
-
It’s far more plausible that jurors are worried about it than that this serial fabulist and attention seeker has the “inside scoop”.
Sometimes black people get targeted for their race. Doesn’t change the fact that Jessie Smollett was talking shit for clicks and status.
As a centrist I have the special ability to zoom out a tenth of a nanometer to realize this OANN pilgrim is likely doing the same thing.
Horace 1.0 would have seen it too.

I didn't claim he was speaking the truth. Pre-TDS jon 1.0 had better reading comprehension than that. My point was the plausibility and the conclusions that would be drawn by a reasonable person about retribution being on the mind of the jurors. jon 1.0 might have been willing to engage in that discussion, rather than running from something that makes his tribe look bad.
-
Yeah I’m really invested in making sure BLM activists don’t come off as intimidating jurors.
That should be obvious to everyone who watched me reflexively defend them from Furguson to Portland.

I remember last time he had some great inside scoop and it turned out to be bullshit it came out in the discussion here that he does this stuff a lot. He works/worked at OANN, so that's a feature not a bug in terms of his career.
But I don't remember all the details, I'm sure google does.

I bet you've even catalogued in your head that one time you said something negative about the Biden administration.

By the way, I have a 12 year old so I am fully aware of the lure of "I know you are but what am I". But not only am I willing to engage in discussions of the possibility, I said as much in the post you are responding to.

Yes, it's plausible, and a reasonable person would reach the conclusion that retribution is on the minds of the jurors. Which is entirely the fault of the culture of the left.
