“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

I love him, and know his home town very well.

        own very well.

        Washington, DC?

I am a donor to and have worked closely with his High School (Duke Ellington School of the Arts). It's an incredible performing arts school with very talented faculty. They recently rebuilt their historic school and are planning a very special event around naming the performance hall after Dave Chappelle. Here is the letter I recently received about the event.

Thank you again for your support of Duke Ellington School of the Arts. The theatre naming event honoring our most distinguished alumnus, Dave Chappelle, has been rescheduled for April 22, 2022.

It’s been a busy year for Chappelle. He is currently traveling nationally and internationally, performing stand-up, and promoting his film projects, all while remaining committed to the school he calls home.

This summer, Chappelle’s Pilot Boy Productions premiered an uplifting, yet-to-be-titled independent documentary that chronicles how Chappelle helped his small Ohio town deal with the fear and economic devastation of COVID-19, the horror of George Floyd's murder, and America's reckoning with deadly racism during the first summer of the pandemic. In October, Netflix released Chappelle’s stand-up special The Closer, which juxtaposes discrimination against Black Americans with that against non-Black members of the LGBTQ+ community. As the most watched comedy special in Netflix’s history, The Closer has garnered a 96% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes while sparking a national debate around race, gender and “cancel culture.”

As a learning institution that champions inclusivity, diversity, equity, and belonging, we decided to take this time, using Chappelle’s latest works as the impetus, to expand our Social Studies curriculum to include content related to political activism, civic engagement, arts activism, and the intersections of race, gender, and sexuality. Our objective is to uplift conversations around artistic freedom and artistic responsibility.

We are extremely grateful for your sponsorship and look forward to your continued support.

        The Brad
