I think I know the reason for the US labor shortage. Not enough illegal immigrants have come to the country over the past few years. LOL

I am being only halfway funny. I dont know but there is probably a certain percentage of low skilled jobs will are employed by illegal immigrants.

Pre pandemica and during the pandemic until now, so for the past 3-4 years, that number is decreased.

Less illegal immigrants, less workers for fast food restaurants, dishwashers in restaurants, unskilled construction jobs, etc.

Thailand just reopened its borders to "guest workers" from Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, etc, because of the shortage of unskilled labor,

We first had a 'guest worker' program with Mexico during WWII

        Braceros (sp?).

We could easily do the same again. Which would be fine. Let the states determine how many workers they need and then let the Feds allocate from there.

I'm not at all opposed to them coming to work. I am opposed to them coming illegally. What say we take all the TSA workers from the airports and put them on this? When was the last time TSA found anything of note, any serious treat to aviation safety?
