    Impressive.

I was going to say "What do you mean 'NEAR zero visibility?'" until the actual landing. He probably had about 15 feet.

I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Trust the technologies, trust the system.
Submarine crews have been doing that forever.

I like the part where the computer calls the pilot a ritard.

I know it's not PC, but the computer knows who is boss.

You already trust a wad of metal to take you to the sky, you might as well trust it to land you too.

I thought there was a minimum ceiling for landings. Is that not true anymore? Or is that for VFR only?

We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there's still time to change the road you're on.

I've been on landings almost that sketchy. No fun. Also the ones where the wings are rocking or the plane is blowing right and left. The ones where the passengers applaud when they touch down.

Raises an interesting question about self driving vehicles. How will they do in near zero visibility? How will they detect the road and where you are on it?

i once landed in a december snow at JFK. i had a window seat. i didnt see the runway until a few seconds before touchdown. was shocking because i expected to see some ground before the runway and all i saw was the runway markings.

                      B747 if remember correctly.

Been on one where the plane rocked from side to side, several of the overhead bin doors flew open scattering the luggage and the oxygen masks dropped.

                        I didn't enjoy it.
