Kevin Rubio's comments about the video:

"Jamie, I worked with Robin on TOYS (1992), but since Robin Wright was also part of the cast, he never seemed to mind when I referred to him at Robert (French pronunciation).
It's easy for someone to "do an impression", but I must say you nailed the quiet Robin I saw on occasion when he would sneak away from the crew over to STAGE 16 where the miniature New York set stood, and just "turn it off". There was a half-court there, and on breaks I would attempt to shoot baskets and fail constantly. Robin never joined me, but would quietly sit or walk around the set, and we would just idlily chat about nothing in particular.
That's the Robin you did. Bravo."

I have no interest in a hagiography of Williams where we're supposed to buy into the notion that the guy was a creative genius.

Only my opinion, but I think Robin Williams was one of the best performers in modern history. I guess chalk me up as a cultural sheeple or whatever but I don't care.

He was one of the great performers in modern history IMO. But hamming it up for the camera at a genius level or the serious acting he did doesn't make him creative to me, which is what his legend is supposed to be. You could say my definition of creativity is too limited. Mostly I don't like that his legend is based on how hilarious he allegedly was, when he himself knew his limitations in that regard and stole material shamelessly. Or maybe not shamelessly as the case was.

The material wasn't what made him hilarious, stolen or otherwise.

Genius is a massively over-used term, but IMHO Robin Williams was one of the few I've seen.

                    I was only joking

I think we are splitting hairs too thin to be seen by the human eye. He was original and talented. I enjoyed his work.
