Tesla Moves HQ to Texas

All my S3XY's live in Texas.....

Oracle and Hewlett-Packard also said they will move to Texas.
Including Tesla, these companies’ main reason seems to be housing affordability, that their employees can no longer afford the housing prices near Silicon Valley and have to put up with long commute. They figure moving to Texas will let them get away from the housing affordability issue.

Course, it doesn't hurt that HP employs thousands of people in Austin.
Apple should be getting close to 10,000, so I wonder when they're gonna move?

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Thursday that the company is moving its headquarters from Silicon Valley to Austin, Texas, where it has been building a new factory for a little more than a year.
Musk said Tesla will continue to operate its electric vehicle factory in Fremont, CA, and that he even plans to try and increase production there by 50 percent. “Just to be clear, though, we will be continuing to expand our activities in California,” he said during the company’s annual shareholder meeting. “So this is not a matter of Tesla leaving California.”
The move means Tesla’s home will no longer be the state where its vehicles are the most popular; instead, Tesla will be headquartered in a state where it can’t legally sell its cars directly to consumers.

What a moron.
Which one, LOL?
The one who was elected. Just like Marjorie Taylor Greene, apparently lots of people think she's fit to govern, so it's arguably their own bloody stupid fault.

Pretty common amongst California leftists to defiantly say that anybody who doesn't want to be here, don't let the door hit you on the way out. That is, of course, easy to say, when they have not yet experienced any personal loss of money, status, or security due to an exodus from their state. We'll see how the future goes in those regards.

They are continuing their manufacturing facilities in California and are amping up production, so what's the end benefit?

Cheap real estate?
We have our corporate offices in Rhode Island a/k/a Middle of bloody nowhere.
Housing is also going to be a lot more affordable, which means salaries can be lower, etc. etc.

The problem is when the residents of these failed blue states move to a red state. The idiots bring their politics with them. Instead of learning a lesson, the fuck things up in the red state. This is happening in Nashville right now.

There's plenty of blue states that aren't failing. Obviously, California is nut-job central, but MA is famously/notoriously the most liberal state in the country, and is thriving. There's more to it than just politics.

I have found many blue areas to be very good places to live. Ann Arbor and Boston come to mind. Red areas also are great. I think places are made by the people, not the government.

I think people on both the left and right make a lot of assumptions about people based on how they vote, which are often completely off-base. I work with people from all over the place who frequently bear little resemblance to how they're stereotyped.

On the other hand, anybody who makes their politics obvious in the workplace can be safely assumed to conform to certain stereotypes.

You were quick to jump to the defense of "blue states"..... but I'll point out two things: 1. I didn't say "all" blue states. I said "these" blue states. The ones that are failing. It isn't the residents of MA who are moving to red states and fucking them up. I was referring to those states. 2. You say there are "plenty of blue states that aren't failing", then you offer up only one. Considering that there really aren't that many blue states to start with, and I can list 3 that have cities in them that are larger than the entire state of MA, it's safe to say that the majority of blue states are failing. Lastly, if it isnt about politics then you should be able to show an example of a blue state being flooded with people moving there to escape a red state. There aren't any.
-
I only offered up one State because it's where I live. We have the 3rd highest GDP per capita in the country, and I'd say thay most people agree it's a pretty nice place to live.
I'm really not interested in having a pissing match. We all know there are some red states which have some pretty dire problems.
