Cats love to be on the highest perch in the room.
Was she a stray? If so, you're going to have your hands full keeping her in the house! I assume she's chipped?

A cat lover friend of mine once observed that that's why you so often see a cat sitting on a newspaper -- because the newspaper is higher than the floor!
Welcome, Stella!
Abandon hope ye who enter here. -

No, she was never a stray. she's only 6 months old and was brought is as a tiny kitten with mom and siblings. Oh, yes..she is chipped. But this one may be more difficult to keep inside. Luna wants no part of outdoors other than to look at it.

Where Luna did not come out from under the bed for a couple days, Stella is ready to take the whole house.

One of Karla's clients has a cat enclosure that goes from her screened-in back deck out to the yard. The cats have been able to catch moles and chipmunks in it, too.

What does Luna think of the new resident?

She has already curled up on my chest and is now napping by my head. Very confident cat.
If Stella could talk: "Hey hi ho put 'er there nice to meetcha this your house? nice digs I can work with this, this your mate? pretty fur lady when do we eat -- whoa! There's ANOTHER CAT???
Where's the door I'm outta here."

Actually Stella has been so confident that we saw no gain in moving slowly so we brought Luna up to the bedroom with us. Stella just trotted right up to her to make friends. Luna is having none of it so far...a little hissing and growling but no fighting. They'll be fine.
We just opened it up. Stella is exploring the house. Luna is sulking in her scratch box.

Stella sounds like a wonderful kitty addition to your family. Luna will soon agree. Okay, maybe not soon, but eventually.

It has gotten a little better each day. Today they were nose to nose a couple times, then I had them playing with the same feather boa, although there was a folding screen between them.

Awww..... I don't see that happening, but Luna was sniffing her neither regions and touched her ear today. Every day gets a little more comfortable.

Luna and Stella are getting pretty friendly. They’ve been zooming up and down the stairs playing hide and seek. pretty good for five days.

So sweet. Luv how Luna is sooo elaborately ignoring Stella; you know if Stella so much as twitches a whisker Luna would be on her feet in a tenth of a second. But Stella is giving herself away with that tail tic.
Love the rug, too.

A Gibson
Of course this has nothing to do with cats. But I don’t like cats anyway. I’m just free associating.
