...this case makes me question myself.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-58747614

Short version - An off-duty Metropolitan police officer stops a woman, shows her his warrant card, says she's breaking Covid guidelines, handcuffs her, gets her in the car, rapes and murders her, then tries to burn her body.

He admitted to the crime. Full life sentence means he never gets out of jail, which is something I guess.

    I was only joking

Short rope, long drop. Of course, you could always just tie a slip knot and make it where his toes barely touched the ground.

His wife was interviewed in one of the papers and she said it came completely out of the blue - he'd never shown any violent tendencies - he was married with kids. In fact, he took them out on a country walk the day after he'd murdered the woman.

            From the BBC...

*Meanwhile, two senior Met officers told London Assembly's Police and Crime Committee they were "not aware" of rumours that Couzens was nicknamed "the rapist" by colleagues.

However, HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary Sir Tom Winsor said the nickname was known by some officers.

Sir Tom, who in his role has responsibility for the inspection of police forces, told the BBC Couzens "also had allegedly a reputation in terms of drug abuse, extreme pornography and other offences of this kind".*

At some point we are going to have to face the fact that this sort of pornography is in fact harmful. Sexual response is often learned. Once it gets wired into your being you are in trouble. Ask Ted Bundy.
