    Yeah, but no wind in your hair, no salt water on your lips, and no smell of coconut oil on lightly sun-roasted bikini-clad females.😞

      Still, VR simulation is a lot less messy.

            Do it once, have the experience.

            Learn your lesson.

            Go waste tons of time and money elsewhere.

                Yes, but when the expensive ones fart, it smells like strawberries.

                  I used to work with a guy from South Africa who actually sailed his boat from South Africa to Chicago.

                  I asked him what it was like to own such a boat (I don't remember the details of what kind it was, etc).

                  "Turn on the shower.
                  Take off all your clothes.
                  Step into the shower.
                  Start tearing up $100 bills."

                  The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

                    @george-k Pretty much!

                    My dad has some pretty funny boat signage along these lines in his garage. His dad owned a marina and shop, and my dad has been a boat mechanic since high school. He's about to turn 67 and is still at it, though he shouldn't be.

                    We had a boat all throughout my childhood and would go out in it every summer weekend. Definitely have memories of my dad frequently having to do repairs on the water (or repairs for strangers in malfunctioning boats we came across while out). We haven't had a boat since I was in college. We all miss it; he does not.

                      Oh, and he never even got the joy of selling the boat. It just plain died. 😆

                        I love, love, love sailing. If I lived near water where I could have it in a slip and not trailer I would definitely have one. I live by a lake but no marina and my lot does not have a dock.

                          I would love to get a Hobie Cat. Tremendous fun and not too much upkeep…
