The tax records were in her lawyer's office. The lawyer had obtained them as part of the discovery process, because she had sued Trump over an inheritance matter.
She says journalists had "persuaded" her to steal the documents from the lawyer's office (wonder if

Yeah, I thought the same thing, Jolly. The information was part of discovery and should have been protected by her attorney. That raises another question - how did a client get her hands on them?
You will also note there has been no indictment resulting from them. Not even any hint of wrongdoing.
