The government wants to know about you...

Good. Nobody makes that much money in an ethical, or even legal, manner. I have no issue with putting the screws to the oppressor class.

      Education is extremely important.

I don't think anybody really ever makes transactions that large out here in the real world. This just shows how out-of-touch those in the Beltway are with regular folk.

Just to put it in perspective, $600 is about the cost of 1200 eggs - and not just any old eggs - CAGE FREE ORGANIC ONES!

That's a bloody big hippy omelet.

        I was only joking

On the positive side, this should help them track down all those panhandlers that drive Porsches at the weekend.

          I was only joking

You better not deposit that weekend gig money.

If you want to know about a person’s life there are so many sources better than what the government knows about you.

Be creeped out but know which direction to look in.

                Read this one instead:
                https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2021/03/26/its-going-to-get-harder-to-avoid-telling-the-irs-about-income-from-online-sales.html

This CNBC article is a more functional, practical reporting of the same news with more details telling you under what situations the reporting requirement kicks in and when it doesn't, without the ideological editorialization embedded in the one linked in the opening post.
