Years ago, I had a family of next door neighbors who were Muslims and kept dogs as pets. From what I could see, they treated their dogs pretty well too. :man-shrugging:

Be they service dogs or maybe just dogs that belonged to American citizens trying to get out of Afghanistan, what do you think the Taliban did with them? Took them home for their children to snuggle with?

Probably shot the legs off of them and left them to whimper and die in the street.

        Good for them.

I doubt the Talibs would be as accommodating.

"Muslims" isn't the point. "Extremist Islamist fundamentalists" is the point.

Over and over people say this, as though all Muslims are the same, and the world is divided into Muslims and non-Muslims. Honestly, it's ridiculous. It leads to no end of bullshit and bigotry.

          I was only joking

                  No, of course not.

But, they won't allow them in their homes.

How do you think that'll play out in Kabul?

Yeah, I know several who don't like cats either.

No, I'm absolutely not. That was the whole point of what I complained about. It was other people that were saying 'Muslims', I was the one who pointed out that 'Muslim' and 'Extremist Islamist Fundamentalist' are not one and the same thing. The people who are in charge in Afghanistan are the latter.

Yes, I know the dogs are fucked. So are all the people. I don't know why we're focusing on the dogs, to be honest.

Speaking of which, there's a British guy who's been running amok trying to save animals, as well. He threatened a member of the British government and went on a big rant, but he left his own people behind when he extricated a load of animals. The guy's a freaking maniac as far as I'm concerned - his attempts to get animals out was getting in the way of the humanitarian effort.

                            My mother doesn't like dogs.

I have several friends that are dogs.

I don't like cats. If a cat has been in an area within the last several years I can't breathe. Everything swells up and turns red.

Darn anti-breathing cat owners don't care if I can breathe.

Anti-cat lives matter, get off my neck.

                            Selfish.
