I love shrimp. I have eaten in fine dining joints where a shrimp dinner costs in the 50 to 60 bucks a person range for a dozen fried shrimp. But i have never been served battered and fried shrimp as good as the ones you get at Captain D's.....
Yep... straight out the drive through window, 6 bucks will get you 2 pieces of fried fish, 6 of the most delectable battered and fried shrimp p you'll ever eat. Meaty, juicy, tender tender tender... with a breaded crust that's light and crispy, excellent Mac and cheese, so so fries, and decent hush puppies.
Better than anything I've ever been served at a fancy shmansy hoity toity restaurant.
As I ate this incredible shrimp today, I thought about the differences between Long John Silvers and Captain D's. I see Long John Silvers as being geared toward little kids (come on in matey, and we'll give you a paper pirates hat!! Arrrrrggggg!!!!) and Captain D's being geared toward adults (emphasis on freshness, healthy choices, etc)....
Ok.. that's my opinon on that...,,

Hey there…I played a pirate at a Long John Silver’s opening one time. They used to have the best fried scallops…so good. I agree that Captain D’S is good. Price is not always an indication of quality. I love Popeye’s and Bojangles too.
