"Psaki Makes Ghoulish Admission About Afghanistan: There Could Be Some Americans Left Behind After Evac
White House press secretary Jen Psaki made an admission Tuesday that appeared to confirm one of the worst fears about President Joe Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan:
That Americans will be left behind when the evacuation ends.
According to an official White House transcript, toward the end of the daily news briefing, a reporter asked Psaki what would happen after the U.S. troop withdrawal deadline, if there was a U.S. citizen who was discovered saying that they are stuck and want to get out.
The reporter asked if this discovery would “trigger a diplomatic, military, all-hands-on-deck-type thing to get that person out, whatever the date.”
Psaki’s response was curt to say the least.
“Our commitment continues to be to U.S. citizens: If they want to leave, we will help get them out,” Psaki said.
However, when the reporter followed up and asked if this would be the case regardless of what the date was, Psaki appeared to indicate that there could be some Americans still left behind after the Aug. 31 deadline — less than a week away.
“Again, we expect there could be some, but I don’t — I’m not going to get into it further,” Psaki said.

That's been one of the concerns, yes. While the UK and France at least put forth an effort to find their people and get them out, we literally told ours that they were on their own and that if you need help getting to the airport, ask the Taliban for help.

Not going to argue about it, if it happened this way, then so be it. It wouldn't be the weirdest thing to happen lately. But I'm having a hard time imagining Washington advising its citizens right out loud to get the Taliban to help them.

Later we sent texts advising thatTaliban members would come drive them to the airport. Of course, not many people are signing up do to them watching Taliban shoot people with the proper identification in the head…

It's not just special forces who have that mentality. I don't know of a single vet or active service person defending this debacle.

"I was able to reach out to him and . . . was able tell him and his Marines exactly what the people trying to get out were wearing," the source said. "It was a very elaborate kind of dramatic process trying to get them – and then once the Marines had identified them in the crowd, they very quickly snatched them up and [brought] them into the gate."
"This has gone on multiple nights," he said. "I’ve also had many failed attempts with not only Afghan SIVs but American citizens who cannot get into the airport."
"The biggest problem is getting them into the airport... around the airport it’s packed, it’s the equivalent of trying to get to the front row of a concert at Wembley Stadium and then get the attention of the people up on stage that you need to come up on stage," he told Fox News. "That is what you are asking people to do, whether they are American citizens or Afghans with SIVs."

Excerpts from CNN: "A grave and specific ISIS terror threat is hanging over the frantic endgame of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan with time fast running out to rescue up to 1,500 Americans and the fate of fleeing Afghans looking darker by the hour.
President Joe Biden is so far sticking to his Tuesday deadline for the final exit from a 20-year war in Afghanistan . . . But in an alarming sign of the deteriorating security environment, US diplomats in Kabul early Thursday local time suddenly warned American citizens to "immediately" leave several gates into the airport, citing security threats.
The warning came hours after a US defense official had told CNN that officials were alarmed by a "very specific threat stream" about the ISIS affiliate in Afghanistan, which planned to attack crowds outside the airfield.
US troops were already in a deeply vulnerable position on the airport, the last piece of Afghanistan they now control . . .
But the added threat from ISIS-K makes the situation even worse. ISIS-K's ranks are believed to have been swelled by escapees from Afghan prisons and potentially a number of hardened fighters from Syria."It's hard to overstate the complexity and the danger of this effort," US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Wednesday. "We're operating in a hostile environment in a city and country now controlled by the Taliban with the very real possibility of an ISIS attack."
