But what do you do? It's very evident that remote learning sucks, especially with math.
And the economy can't stand another lockdown.
Life has to resume.

I was on a call with some pulmonary critical care docs yesterday. At shands hospital (UofF) fully half of ICU nurses are unvaccinated. At UAB the number was 60%.

Can we just fast forward to the part where we start mounting flamethrowers to our cars?

DeSantis is fighting an uphill battle with vaccine mandates. He may appeal to his base but mandates will be the way we get through this. So far treatments, incentives, bullying, berating and coaxing have been ineffective at moving the needle fast enough.
Mandates could still lose in the courts but this is the play and it is unfolding faster than I thought possible.

Mandates are fine by me. Make it as mandatory as possible.

It would be interesting to see how mandates are enforced. I guess they'd have to make proof of vaccination a requirement to procure government services, such as getting a drivers license.
In the context of my own life, I'm already at a mandate. Get vaccinated or reshuffle my career.
Can we safely assume that proof of vaccination won't be a requirement to vote?
Will they administer vaccinations in prisons by force, to those unwilling? Or just keep them in prison indefinitely until they consented? Good times...

If they become part of the application process, lying about a vaccination might carry with it a perjury charge.

When would the mandate end?
This is just another poorly thought out, poorly planned example of mob rule.
It will kill a few people, then we’ll move on to the next pitchfork brigade.

And who would file such charge, the prospective employer?
Outside of a government job, I doubt that would hold much water. By that standard, anyone who lies on a job application is subject to perjury, right?
Or are we just arguing
about pricethat some lies are worse than others? -

If perjury were a thing, Hillary Clinton, James Comey, and Tony Fauci would be in prison.

That's what I'm getting at. Even completely non-governmental jobs around here have at the end of the application "I certify, under penalty of perjury," etc. So if vaccination proof is part of that... well then I don't know.

His son doesn’t need to worry. His resume is one line. “My dad is Joe Biden”. And it’s actually true.
