When the HIV-AIDS virus was discovered in 1984, Tony started to work on a vaccine against that virus. (I’d guess that he has pompously continued to advise on that failing project for over 35 years.)
Lol, classic Fauci. Pompous bragging.

From another of the good doctor’s (Erwin Haas) writing’s:
I find the claim that the COVID-19 vaccines that have been developed and deployed to lack credibility. Where is the record of safety and how long and against what do these concoctions protect? The claims and appeals to immunize by the NYT, NPR, and CDC under color of “science” appeal only to the credulous.
“Concoction”

That's not even a sentence.

That’s correct. A direct quote from the doctor criticizing Fauci.

Sentences are good for making points, but non-sentences are not.

It's a sentence. Look at the construct.

If you remove "the claim that", it makes sense. I think "the claim that" ruins the sentence. Maybe I can defer to @Aqua-Letifer .

Change 'to lack' to 'lacks' and you are right there. The message is obvious.

It makes grammatical sense, at least.
