How one can study history of any civilization or tribe or religion without understanding the double standard and double speak as a feature is lost on me.

No one made that claim, but given recent history it is not a stretch to wonder if his administration was involved.

Better if the Catholic Church would just accept homosexuality. Then homosexuals and bisexuals can partake in Catholic Church functions, serve as priests, and visit gay clubs without awkwardness or repercussions.
