I've said it before...
The Flying Tigers (the ONLY USAF unit officially allowed to paint the shark mouths on the fuselage) were based here for several years. I'd occasionally drive through the national forest close to the base or along the edge of their practice range.
Ain't nuthin' like toodlin' down the road, minding your own business, and one of those guys drop in from nowhere and make a mock strafing fun on you, flying 50 feet above the treetops.
