I've stated many times that I'm one of the least creative people I know.
I don't think Peterson has ever been more right in his analysis of creativity.
- most people are not creative. Are not. At all. They think they are, but what they do is mix and match what other people have done in areas people consider "creative" (writing, painting, etc.) True creativity means making things that are (1) novel and (2) valuable to others.
- Who the hell decided that creativity is such a good thing? I think what they mean by that is that they're capable of doing fun activities, which is true. But real creativity means that in addition to paying bills, checking in on family, staying physically active, etc., you have this whole other bullshit you're going to have to do because you have to just to stay sane. Oh and by the way, it's almost impossible to monetize, and everyone's going to consider you a loony and say "you have too much time on your hands." And conversations are going to be hard because you're going to have to learn to keep that lateral thinking in check.

So I can program an engine to find nouns that have the lowest connection levels to each other and that would give me a high creativity score? I wouldn’t call that very creative.
