This is an excerpt from a piece in The Hill today:
Portland, Ore.: Murders are up, not 8 percent or 80 percent, but 800 percent over the past year. "Roving gangs of black-clad rioters do not speak for the hundreds of thousands of residents and business owners of Portland who want a safe and clean city. Yet local politicians supported them," said Portland Police Association Executive Director Daryl Turner in a recent statement. "These rioters, bent on destruction, hijacked social and racial justice movements. These rioters burned and looted our city. Yet local politicians supported them."
800%!
Why is this not national news?

Mr Turner can say that out loud without fear of repercussion. I wonder why? And I didn't even google a picture of him.

Nothing a "whiff of grapeshot" can't sort with the rabble. Been done before, why not do it now?

There should be a law against this.

I just read the NYT full page ad from the Portland tourism board.
"We have two sides", says the most polarized leftist wingnut city in America.
"All ideas are welcome, you can be yourself here", says the city most likely to destroy any resident or business who espouses conservative social ideas.
Their marketing isn't bad though. Imagine the target audience for that ad. And imagine that the Portland tourism board thinks that target audience reads the NYT. They probably do.

Maybe they're looking for immigrants, what with the current NYC exodus...

It’s hard to believe there is a down side to riots and no police.

Because the leftist culture won't allow it, of course. Law enforcement hurts their feelings.
Then I guess you'll just have to hurt their feelings.
Hurting their feelings causes the whole country to riot. It's a vicious cycle.
