      If interested, here's the thread.

      But here's what I found very interesting:

      I wish Sam Kinison was still alive so he could talk to some of your about your "hurt feelings."

        Well, Elon's building in Texas is so huge you could put Twitter in a corner of it.

        That awful power, the public opinion of a nation, is created in America by a horde of ignorant, self-complacent simpletons who failed at ditching and shoemaking and fetched up in journalism on their way to the poorhouse. - Samuel Clemons

          I went to San Francisco at the end of last year. I can't argue with his assessment. Very disappointing.

            @Doctor-Phibes

            I was there for several days in June 2021 and several days in May 2022.

            I didn’t see too much in the way of homeless encampments. Sporadic homeless, even in groups, but not the “open air drug scenes” you hear about.

            In LA on the other hand, I saw lots both in 2020 and 2022. I’m sure it has much to do with where I happened to walk, but I walked for hours in San Fran, downtown as well as the touristy neighborhoods.

              I have spent a couple of weeks in LA the last couple of summers and I agree. That really disappointed me. I know that they have made some laws to ban "camping" on public ways. Who knows whether it will work or not.

                I spent some time in LA in 92 or 93 and there was a large (to me) homeless population in and around Santa Monica. I jogged along the beach in the morning and they were spread over a couple miles.
